Before I say anything, I want you to know how much it means to me that you visited my platform! There are hundreds of thousands of very talented creatives out there, and I’m another one, following my passion and heart to serve people. But every opportunity leaves me feeling refreshed and thankful, so thank you! Here’s a short Q&A I did with myself! I hope it shows my heart and drive behind what I love to do the most!
How long have you been doing what you do?
This is such a tricky question, because my “what” is capturing memories and special moments that mean the most to you. But there is a funny story I always like to share to show that this started at such a young age! So imagine a little Paige, pig tails in an all hot pink, sequins shirt and the white Sketchers with the charms… yeah, that was me :) And just a few days before any holiday, my favorite obviously being Christmas, I always had my parents take me to the local grocery store for me to buy a 2pack of disposable cameras. And the day before the holiday, I would would go “scouting” around our home to find the best backdrops for me to stage my family in front of! And with having the best family, they were all always such good sports about my big ideas and my obsession of capturing our time together :) SO, to answer this question, a long time! But more precisely, with a big girl camera, 4years!
Why do you love doing photography?
My heart beats to celebrate and embrace memories, but more importantly, document them with photos. And I recognized my passions for this as a little girl, I was always loved to go to my Yiayia and Papou’s house and look at old photos and the hear the stories behind them. And when we would sift through the totes of prints, I saw the emotion on my Yiayia’a face and the feelings that came back to her while reliving times through the artifacts she had to remember them by.
*new perspective after 2022…. as we all know, the pandemic hit us each in its own way. For my husband and I specifically, 2022 hit us the hardest. On January 3rd, my Baba (dad in Greek) passed away completely unexpectedly, all due to Covid. Four months later, my husbands Grandma passed.. and then his Nonno three months after that. So to say the absolute least, I have gained an even deeper passion for photos. Along with memories, all we have to hold onto is pictures. So, can getting your family photos done be such a daunting task? Sure. But think about it from my perspective. I would do anything to have the chance to take another family photo, let alone another photo with my Baba. So book the session. Set some more time aside in your wedding timeline for photos. Take my word for it, you will not regret it.
What can I expect during my session?
Listen, I know how intimidating the camera can be! Take if from someone who refused to get senior portraits! But listen, what I have learned is that I want to capture your special day, your love, your accomplishments, anything. I’m not here to capture the perfect smile or perfect outfit, I’m here to capture what’s special to you. So during our short time together, you can expect lots of smiles, belly laughs and me trying to make funny jokes :) You can expect me to be your biggest cheerleader and encourager. You can expect, in fact, look forward to, a time to simply be you.
So come on! Let’s do this thing!
xx, Paige
